Robin Chell Design recently completed this kitchen remodel in Bellevue, Washington. It was time to say goodbye to a drab 80′s interior, complete with white plastic laminate cabinets and countertops, a dated hexagonal kitchen island, and an otherwise broken up, inefficient layout.

Bringing the kitchen into the 21st Century first meant creating a smart layout for the space. The two original islands gave way to a large and luxurious “L” shaped island topped with a stunning, polished white Quartzite countertop.  The rest of kitchen is stylishly contrasted with grey quartz countertops.

Natural, rift-cut oak is used for the lower cabinets, while white, high-gloss acrylic Zenolite upper cabinets provide a bright and luminous contrast. The microwave was moved to the lower cabinets, which made room for a large, industrial-modern range hood.

Special thanks to Kerstin Williams, our Senior Designer, who was instrumental in this project. We also loved working with the crew from Proform Construction, who managed the remodel.  It’s great to see and experience how transforming a kitchen can make such a difference. After all, it’s really the heart of the home.
